APPLICANTS EDUCATED IN THE U.S.

  1. US Applicants

Official graduate transcripts are required of all applicants for the ATR.

If you graduated from an AATA-approved education program, you automatically meet the education requirements for the ATR.

If your education program was not AATA-approved, you must have received your degree and completed all relevant coursework through a nationally or regionally accredited program. In addition to transcripts, you will need to provide course descriptions and/or course syllabi to demonstrate that you have met the studio art, mental health, and art therapy core content requirements as described in the ATR application.

Please see the ATR Application Handbook for complete information regarding the post-education supervised art therapy experience requirement, which is based on your education.
