The Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) is recruiting ATR-BC's for positions on the Nominating Committee for a two-year term of service beginning February 2020. Appointed by the President, members of the ATCB Nominations Committee may serve up to three two-year terms. The Nominating Committee members, including Chairperson, cannot be members of the AATA Board nor on an AATA standing committee. The AATA standing committees are:

  1. Education Committee
  2. Continuing Education Committee
  3. Education Program Approval Board
  4. Ethics Committee
  5. Finance Committee
  6. Nominating Committee

The Nominations Committee recommends candidates for Board positions selected by the ATCB Board of Directors (including Public Member). The Committee takes into account factors including willingness to serve, geographic distribution, cultural and racial diversity, ability to make the necessary time commitment, commitment to the field of art therapy and issues related to credentialing, potential conflict of interest, organizational skills, years in the field, experience as a clinician or educator.

Generally, the Committee works via e-mail. During decision times, such as choosing candidates for the election slate, there is likely to be one or two telephonic meetings. The ATCB National Office works with the members of the Committee to establish a time for this. The National Office receives materials (letter of intent to serve, CV, and biographical sketch) from nominees and disseminates the materials to the Committee members for consideration.

Please contact LeeAnn Mandrillo, ATCB Executive Director to learn more or volunteer for this critical committee. Please note, there is a need for three members and the work of the committee will be immediate.
