Welcome to the Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc.!

We at ATCB are proud to unveil our redesigned web site and hope that you find it a helpful and easy to use resource. We welcome your feedback about the redesign and you may forward any comments to towne@atcb.org.

Founded in 1993, Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc. is the national credentialing body for art therapy. As a credentialing body, the ATCB creates and maintains standards associated with earning art therapy credentials. The mission of the ATCB is "to protect the public by promoting the competent and ethical practice of art therapy." In response to its mission, the ATCB offers two credentials; Registered Art Therapist (ATR), and Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). Both of these credentials are solely owned and granted by the ATCB. Credential holders must adhere to the ATCB’s Code of Professional Practice, thus ensuring that the public is protected. The ATCB further protects the public by reviewing and adjudicating ethical complaints made against ATRs and ATR-BCs as warranted and outlined by the Code of Professional Practice.

The ATCB, Inc. is proud to celebrate our 15th anniversary in 2008. As this milestone approaches we are continuing our commitment to protecting the public and will be unveiling our new Supervisors Credential. The Board of Directors feels that the creation of this credential is an essential component to furthering our mission.

We at ATCB, Inc. hope that you enjoy using this new website.
